Olga Shapovalova

As a national expert of the European Union Advisory Mission (EUAM), Olga Shapovalova, partner of Benchers Law Firm, joined the meeting of the team developing the manual for investigative judges «Investigating judge in criminal proceedings: current professional issues».


The event was held by the National School of judges of Ukraine in cooperation with the EUAM.

The event was attended by:

- representatives of the EUAM project - Guido Oestreich, Senior Adviser on Judiciary, and Yurii Sivoloha, criminal proceedings expert;

- Olga Korotkova, a teacher of the Teachers (Trainers) Training Department of the National School of Judges;

- Judges Petro Zaruba, Larysa Radutska, Iryna Shapovalova, Serhii Hlubochenko, Svitlana Muratova.

The meeting participants presented their developed materials that will be the basis of the manual. Also, the meeting discussed the structure and sections on the application of certain measures to ensure criminal proceedings by investigating judges. The manual will be about the matters of granting permission to certain investigative (search) actions, considering complaints in accordance with Article 303 of the Criminal Procedure Code, and problematic issues of determining the terms of pre-trial investigation.
