Myroslav Hnatiuk, partner of Benchers Law Firm, in cooperation with the team of lawyers, represented Ukreximbank JSC in Pivnichnyi Commercial Court of Appeal in a dispute related to the debt of a large Ukrainian manufacturer and distributor of ceramic tiles.

The case was about Ukreximbank's creditor claim for more than UAH 1.9 billion to the property guarantor, the part of the said manufacturer's group of companies. The claims in question were acknowledged by Kyiv Commercial Court but the debtor tried to refute them before the court of appeal.

The court of appeal agreed with the arguments provided by the lawyers representing the interests of the state bank, and on June 30, 2022, the court issued the resolution sustaining the judgment of the first instance court.

Since 2007, the said manufacturer received more than USD 60 million loan from Ukreximbank JSC. However, since 2013, the company completely stopped servicing the debt and started bankruptcy proceedings against the principal debtor and property guarantors, and still evades repayment of the loan.
